Birds bring us so much joy, so it’s only natural we want to learn more about them. Identifying them, however, is a skill on its own – North America has around 900 bird species, but it’s only a fragment of all the bird species in the world. And if you take into account the sexual dimorphism, it only gets more difficult.
Do you know how to recognize the most common bird species? Or can you spot the difference between Carolina Wren and House Wren? This is your chance to do so!

These bird quizzes were quite fun to take, and while I didn't get them all right, I got more right than I thought I would. This started me thinking about all the following: Preserving our earth is all-around important. Working individually toward leaving a lesser footprint than before. Ability to realize the significance a single person can impact on earth. Sad to see any species become endangered & to the point of extinction. Birds especially, play a huge role in helping balance the eco-system, I feel, from migration to pollination & more. That being said, there is also a natural evolution process occurring as our earth is ever changing, & man needs to respect those as well. I do see more and more trees being cut down. I shudder at that impact alone on our birds. Along with vast land erosions having no trees can & does cause, plus lowered oxygenated air levels. Sadly, most people who lived the dirty 1930's aren't here to explain how that even occurred, & what made it worse. We start somewhere, & I think bird watching, learning their habits, is a great place to start, with seeing our earth's natural beauty and wanting to keep it that way. Thanks for the bird watching!

@Marsha- Well said, watching birds reminds us of how vital it is to live more in harmony with nature. They are also a good way to get more people connected with the life that surrounds us and that we depend on.
