Species with a lot of Red
Spoonbills – Family Threskiornithidae

The Roseate Spoonbill is more pink than red, but it is such a beautiful bird we decided we had to show it here.
Tyrant Flycatchers – Family Tyrannidae

The male Vermilion Flycatcher superficially resembles the Scarlet Tanager (above). Note the black behind the eye and the smaller, more pointed bill of the Vermilion Flycatcher.
Tanagers – Family Thraupidae

This Summer Tanager is still molting into full breeding plumage.

The male Scarlet Tanager in full breeding plumage is an unmistakable scarlet red with shiny black wings and tail.
Cardinals - Family Cardinalidae

When a Northern Cardinal is relaxed, his crest may not be as prominent as when he is disturbed or trying to make an impression.

The Pyrrhuloxia is a western cousin to the Northern Cardinal. More gray than red, it is sometimes confused with a female Northern Cardinal.
Finches – Family Fringillidae

Only the male House Finch has the red color, the female is a streaked brown. Also consider Purple Finch and Cassin's Finch.
