Eurasian Collared-Dove

Scientific name:  Streptopelia decaocto

The non-native Eurasian Collared-Dove has expanded its range tremendously in recent decades, and now occupies urban and suburban areas across much of the U.S. Eurasian Collared-Doves often occur in flocks outside of the breeding season, and readily take advantage of bird feeders.

Eurasian Collared-Doves have a long nesting season, which may be year-round in warm climates. As many as six broods can be raised annually, another reason this dove has expanded its range so rapidly.
