Five new shorebird species plans

In cooperation with shorebird experts and in response to the conservation priorities in the U.S. Shorebird Conservation Plan, the offices of the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network (WHSRN) are developing action-oriented Species Conservation Plans.

Last month, plans for five more high-priority shorebird species were released. They are (left to right) for American Oystercatcher, American Golden-Plover, Sanderling, Whimbrel, and Wilson's Phalarope. Each of these species has its own story and it own conservation problems.
